[cobalt-users] RE: [Cobalt] Adverses effects to FrontPage server extensions?

If you have FPSE installed you should not use FTP to upload files. Always use Frontpage to publish the webpages.

* When deleting a site, make sure Frontpage Extensions are turned off first

* Never FTP uploads to a site that has Frontpage Extensions installed

            why?

- httpd owns the file when Frontpage extensions are installed

- if you use FTP, then whoever uploads owns files & extensions won't recognize them

- no one owns files when anonymous FTP is used so its ok even w/extensions installed

* When two virtual sites use the same IP address only one can have Anonymous FTP checked.  If more than one site had it installed then when you FTP'd into the site it wouldn't know which site to go to.  If virtual sites use different IP addresses then they can both have Anonymous FTP checked.

Subject: [Cobalt] Adverses effects to FrontPage server extensions?

Is anyonne aware of any adverse effects to FrontPage server extensions on a RaQ2 if you FTP with a regular FTP program when FPSE are installed?
