Been there, done that right here with some List cops <Grin>.
Not sure there ever was an RFC on 'standards', I believe the origin
goes so far back into FIDONet and others that it got blurred over
the years. My observation was based on what seems to be acceptable
on a majority of the lists I participate in. Wasn't meant as 'this
should be it', but more 'here's what I'm doing that no one seems
to take issue with'.

LOL, yes there are! And I'm 100% for SIGs done in a reasonable
fashion. Not only allows for a little promo, but also allows you to
see more about the person posting so you can understand them as well.

Exactly the point. It's at the mercy of wherever the new home
may be in just 3 mode days!

Heh, it was tough enough just compacting it into that
space so as not to offend the masses! And that's just for
our web services division, our mainstay is a completely
different market with a completely different SIG. This one
is used on most lists I'm in, and was trimmed to the bone
to conform to what's generally accepted.
