[cobalt-users] [Qube2] CVS and passwords

Cobalt support folks,

Hello. I have a Qube2 and think it's a very cool product. A small
developer community wants to use CVS on it. So I created a whole bunch of
accounts, with passwords "123abc" and told them to go for it. When users
change their password (either via telnet or via the web interface) it is
changed in the passwd file but cvs will not recognize the change. They can
still only access cvs with their original password. This is true after a
server reboot as well.

How do I "push" the changes so cvs will recognize them? I know this is not
a cvs support forum so if this is a cvs problem I'll go elsewhere, but it
just seems like the security is slightly non-standard gnu linux on this
server (On a suggestion from deja.com, I tried running pwconv to synch my
shadow password file. After that no password was valid and we had to start
over.)

TIA,
Jeff Carlson
