Hi all
I've asked this question many times before and never received a
single reply so it's either something very obvious or everyone
out there is stumped. Going to have to ask again as the problem
has appeared again.
Basically we came in this morning to find that a number of apparently
random sites have had directory permissions altered (usually the
directory named 'includes' within /web) so that the leading 'd' is
replaced with a '?'
This results in the directory no longer being recognised as such
and so the site cannot access any files within and all we can do
is delete and restore from backups.
I can't help feeling that there must be an explanation for why this
is happening and/or some way of fixing the permissions - I have no
reason to believe that the files within the folder are damaged in
any way.
Absolutely any help or thoughts on this matter greatly appreciated.
Phil
