That's good to know. However, it still leaves everybody at the same pop
server. 

Is there any solution for a pop3 server farm out there which does not
involve mega-bucks spent on SAN or NAS?

I build a custom pop3 daemon...  Then the Raq can breath again in most
cases....  This removes the need for our friend qpopper to load everytime
it's called...
