[cobalt-users] DNS and mail problems

Hi,

 I have two RaQ4s with RaQ550OS.

The Network Intefaces are set up as follows:
ns0.mydomain.net xxx.yyy.zzz.66 alias xxx.yyy.zzz.68
ns1.mydomain.net xxx.yyy.zzz.67 alias xxx.yyy.zzz.69

ns0 is Primary DNS with the following records:

ns0 . mydomain.com Forward xxx.yyy.zzz.66
ns1 . mydomain.com Forward xxx.yyy.zzz.67
www . mydomain.com Forward xxx.yyy.zzz.69
mx . mydomain.com Forward xxx.yyy.zzz.66
mail . mydomain.com Forward xxx.yyy.zzz.67
sql . mydomain.com Forward xxx.yyy.zzz.68
mydomain.com Mail Highest mail.mydomain.com
mydomain.com Mail Low mx.mydomain.com
xxx.yyy.zzz.68/aaa.bbb.ccc.240 Reverse mydomain.com

Zone Transfer Access by IP Address: xxx.yyy.zzz.67

Ns1 is secondary DNS as follows:

Secondary Service Primary DNS Server
w2ns.com 195.167.184.66

As you can see I want to have two MX servers. When I send an email from
another email address yiannis at yiannis dot co dot uk I get the
following:

The original message was received at Tue, 13 Apr 2004 23:52:55 +0100
from [195.167.184.66]

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<yiannis@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
(reason: 554 5.4.6 Too many hops)

----- Transcript of session follows -----
554 5.4.6 Too many hops 26 (25 max): from <yiannis@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> via
[xxx.yyy.zzz.66], to <yiannis@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

It also has the following attachment:

Reporting-MTA: dns; ns1.mydomain.com
Received-From-MTA: DNS; [195.167.184.66]
Arrival-Date: Tue, 13 Apr 2004 23:52:55 +0100

Final-Recipient: RFC822; yiannis@xxxxxxxxxxxx
Action: failed
Status: 5.4.6
Diagnostic-Code: SMTP; 554 5.4.6 Too many hops
Last-Attempt-Date: Tue, 13 Apr 2004 23:52:55 +0100

Needless to say that the domain is properly registered and that the IP
addresses work properly.

I think it's DNS related. Any ideas?

Any help on the two MXs would be highly appreciated.

TIA
Yiannis.
