AW: [cobalt-users] RaQ3i --> RaQ 550

after your recent posting i had a closer look at my raq here, and now i'm
wondering how one would get access to those jumpers. the front panel does
not really seem removable to me, aren't those plastic thingies fixed?

Overclocking is not a correct statement.
Overclocking is running a CPU faster than it's specified clock rate.
So running a 500MHz CPU at 500 MHZ is NOT overclocking.

The CPU using a heatsink/fan appears to correct the heat problems with the
500MHz CPUs.

We have found that running a RaQ3 at 500 or 550 with K6-2+ (2.0V core) is
very acceptable, not to mention the larget cache on the K6-2+ CPUs.

We are currently experimenting with K6-III+, which has a much larger cache.

Interesting to note; (max power dissipation)

  500 MHz: 20.75 W (K6-2 @ 2.2 V)
  500 MHz: 18.50 W (K6-2+ @ 2.0 V)
  500 MHz: 16.00 W (K6-III+ @ 2.0 V)
