You're welcome <blush>.

I did get an email back from my friend yesterday, but it turned out to
be one of those "disaster" days, and I didn't get a chance to forward
it to the list.

He wrote, comparing it to HSphere, that HSphere "has billing features &
reseller accounts, whereas CP+ is designed for single dedicated
servers."

Based on that (I haven't had time yet to ask him for clarification) it
appears that CP Plus doesn't have a reseller panel. While that's fine
for many Sun Cobalt users, who've never had a reseller control panel,
it's a nice feature to have; even if you don't have resellers you can
use it to group accounts for one reason or another.

I've said it here before, so I won't go into it in detail, but I was a
Plesk Gold Partner for a while; then decided that Plesk wasn't going in
the direction I wanted to go in (they require too much control over
your server; there's very little you can add/control by yourself
outside of the interface), and I'm now using, recommending, and
offering third-party support, for DirectAdmin
(http://www.directadmin.com/). One of our DirectAdmin products is a
free (as in beer, as in speech) spamblocking tool that's quite a bit
more configurable than anything you can do with Sendmail on a RaQ.

If you like to do admin tasks from the command line you should really
look at DirectAdmin; it has the least "dependency" on doing things
through the interface of of any control panel I've ever experienced. I
can do just about anything from the command line without running into
problems with the control panel, yet the control panel gives an
unprecedented degree of flexibility and control to the site-owner,
including the ability to add simple cron-jobs him/herself, and to make
certain changes to her/his httpd configuration. It also sets up DNS
automatically, but allows you to make changes directly to DNS zone
files without breaking the DNS system or rewriting over them.

It has a great reseller level, and a great site-owner level, but lacks a
site-user (mailbox-owner) level; all the site-user can do for
him/herself is change passwords.
