[cobalt-users] bluepanel update

As requested, here is a status update on bluepanel.

bluepanel for the RaQ550
bluepanel for the RaQ550 is now at pre-beta and is available for install, see
  http://www.bluepanel.org/forum/index.php?t=msg&th=2&start=0&rid=3 .

Development on bluepanel for the RaQ550 is now on hold while we work on
  getting bluepanel for Debian ready.

The pre-beta version should be quite stable but is missing some features.

bluepanel for the RaQ4
bluepanel for the RaQ4 will require only minor modification to the bluepanel
RaQ550 code. Work will begin on bluepanel for the RaQ4 in the next couple
of months (as soon as we have time).

bluepanel for Debian
bluepanel for Debian pre-beta will be available for download as an ISO as
soon as we finish building and testing the installer.

The installer is designed to work on an empty server and will install Debian
Woody & bluepanel. To install you boot from the CD and type a single command,
The installer does the rest, you just need to take out the CD once it's done
  and reboot.

The installer gives you a standard Debian Woody install with the following
  additional features;
    2.4.18-bf2.4 kernel
MD Software RAID-1 (mirroring) on all partitions.
    EXT3 File Systems
    Discover (hardware auto detection).
    bluepanel.

The primary platform for bluepanel will be the Sun V60x, however bluepanel
should install and run on any pc that can boot from a CD ROM drive, has a
network card and 1 or more IDE or SCSI hard drives larger then 3GB.

Delivery of our V60x server has been delayed, we are now expecting to receive
it in just over a week. We expect to have the pre-beta available for download
within a couple of days of receiving the server.
