create a directory for the mount.
then;
mount /dev/hdx4 /directory
Where 'x' is the drive, 'b', 'c', 'd'' or whatever
Then you can issue cd /directory

thanks - total brain blockage... this has generated another question...

I've got a recent cmu backup of the site settings, which I'm ftping to the replacement box, I'll restore these in good time, but I'm a little wary given the source machine's hard drive was not functioning properly - just incase the cmu files have "problems".

What are the chances of a cmu export messing up the destination server beyond repair if the hard drive that generated the export was "failing"?
