read somewhere that by executing a command/script as root this can be
recreated. Anybody has the link/info readily available. I googlded and got
a script fixsite.pl, but I think that there is another way to do it in
cobalt way. Any idea?

the fixsite.pl sctrip won't work as the RaQ2 uses a difftrent database
system... as far as i know there is no script to fix the database from the
system... We actually almost wrote one this week, but the customer decided
to migrate instead of having us spend the time to write a script to fix
it...
if the gui is gone completely you might want to make sure it's running to
start with and (ps -axufw | grep admserv) and if is't not running then look
into that..
