Hi,
Could it be that your reverse-DNS lookup is taking a
long time and then eventually timing out?  You might
try double-checking that your nameservers are (a)
properly configured and (b) properly listed in your
resolv.conf

Then you could always try reducing the timeout on rdns
lookups, or eliminating them altogether.
