Hi Jonathan

The best way is to plug a cross over cable from Eth0 to your PC and slip in
the restore CD.
Make sure you have set the PC to boot from CD in the BIOS.
The OSRCD supports only a few network cards IIRC an Intel and Netgear
(FA-312), cant remember the others, it tells you what cards are supported
when you boot from the CD.

You can use a switch/hub and two patch cables instead of a x over cable.
Personally I always put the PC and RAQ on a UPS when doing an OS restore as
a safety measure.

If you are feeling adventurous then you could create a Custom OSRCD which
will give you a fully patched server as soon as you restore it and the
larger / and /var partitions.

Also from root (su -) try

cmos -c romrev

If it is an older rom you might want to look at flashing a new version to
allow for larger hard drives to be used, however read all the warnings about
the dangers of rom upgrading.

Good Luck

Paul.
