(for those who notice that I've sent 3 emails in a row and
feel spammed I appologise, I felt it was better to seperate
them by subject)
I have a really odd problem with this RaQ4 in that every
time I try to compile a newer version of perl or do a CPAN
of a moduel that requires alot of things to happen at once
I seem to lose all network from the RaQ. At first I thought
it was the machine crashing but thats not the case, during
a period when I thought the machine was down it's got logs
of telnetd ttloop reads in the /var/log/messages which I
gleaned from a different post is the testing of the telnetd
but none the less the box is unreachable. I'm not sure if
it's CPU loads that are causing this problem or if it's
massive text to the screen but I'm looking for anyone who
might be familiar with such a problem happening in the past
and the fix for it.
It's not just a perl thing either because it also happened
when I tried to compile sshd.
I'm still kinda feeling my way around this thing since I've
been a FreeBSD guy for years and never much of a linux guy
and the RaQs seem to be an odd flavor of linux.
In that same thread if anyone can suggest a good resource
along the lines of "So, you've got your first Cobalt
server, now what" kinda thing I'd be very appreciative.
Thanks :)
