RE: [cobalt-users] Broken 4R

Did you try resetting the cmos ?
Hold E while powering up the box... You should see a message that the CMOS
is restored.
You'll probably see another kernel panic on the display after that, power
off, power on and that might fix it.
I had the same prob yesterday while installing the RAQ550 OS on a RAQ4i.
All worked fine after that.

Subject: [cobalt-users] Broken 4R

I attempted to load 550OS onto one of my 4R's. After many hours of it not
being quite right, i.e. kernel panics and the like, it is now booting and
after the cursor flies along the screen a few times it gets to "Select an
Option". Once it gets there, no buttons work and the only thing you can do
is turn it off.

I have tried a different processor/memory but still no good, I suspect
either the board or ROM. Is there anywhere in the UK where I can send it for
repair or if anyone has any other ideas, I will gratefully receive them!

TIA

Richard
