First Option:

You can purchase a pkg version from http://www.nuonce.net. Install the pkg 
then edit mailscanner.conf, search for "f-prot", then add "clamav" as well 
on the same line. Restart mailscanner.

Second Option:

Download the source from http://www.clamav.net/ and read the installation 
instruction contained in the documentation 
(http://www.clamav.net/doc/0.70/clamdoc.pdf). Make sure to run freshclam 
and cron it for the future (it's doc'd in the same instructions). Then 
again add clamav into mailscanner.conf then restart it.

Installation from source does work on the 550 and it quite simple.
