[cobalt-users] 550 locks up authenticated services

I have a RaQ3 turned 550 that has a nasty habit of
locking up authenticated services.  By that I mean
anything that takes a password.

For instance, right now it's running and will serve
webpages, the first page of the admin console, answers
smtp, picks up ssh requests and pings just fine.

But if a service requires a password, the machine just
appears to hang.  SSH will connect and ask for usr &
password, and then just sits there.   Same thing with
POP3 and admin pages and IMAP.

The one exception appears to be webmail.  Webmail will
authenticate.

Ideas?
