Hi Jason,

I have not installed MailScanner via a package since the old 3.xx Bassi 
package. I have installed from source and CPAN. I have managed to leave my 
old Perl intact (just lucky, I guess).

I have attempted to install MailScanner-MRTG and have been unsuccessful. I 
have never been able to find dependencies that will mesh with the RaQ4 OS. 
If you are on a 550, you might have better luck. That is not to say that 
MailScanner-MRTG is impossible on the RaQ4. I believe I have seen someone 
posting success to this group WRT MAilScanner-MRTG on a RaQ4.

Most of my difficulties in getting MailScanner running had to do with the 
/var/spool/mqueue* directories and the /home/spool/mqueue* links. Fix them 
and I believe you'll get it going. Your /var/log/maillog will give you the 
clues as to what to fix. Just start MailScanner, watch it go (defunct) and 
check your log.
