Hi dear list! :)
First at all I'm looking for a nice Web-GUI to manage a Mailing-List.
Configure eMail-Texts and so on. I tried Majorcool but didn't get
that to work for my RAQ4. Now I found mailman as a complete
standalone product ->
I installed the alpha mailman pkg
(http://www.cobaltworld.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=6
) from cobaltdevelopers and followed the installation and
setup-orders in that thread:
http://list.cobalt.com/pipermail/cobalt-developers/2002-March/036266.html
I did so far:
- installed the pkg
- Added a list with "/home/mailman/bin/newlist"
- Changed "/etc/mail/aliases" like you described
- Changed "/etc/mail/virtusertble" like you described
- Re-hashed with "/usr/sbin/newaliases"
I can reach the mailman admin gui with "domain.de/mailmal/admin/listname.
I subscribed myself and got the confirmation eMail. But after
answearing it, I don't appear on the member list. The maillog says:

The last line is the interesting one I guess. Why is there the system
error? I tested to change the owner/group policies on that wrapper
from wrapper.wrapper to root.root but didn't help.
Dind't find anything in google which helps me, sure - lot's of hits
but nothing directly for me.
Gavin from Cobaltdevelopers got no idea, too. It's all a bit outdated, too.
Anyone an idea or experiences with that system? Or suggestions what
else to use? :)
