RE: [cobalt-users] users can download mail but not send

OK, Maybe the way you set up your accounts.

First, I assume that you domains (all of them) have at least one DNS that is
the same. This DNS settings that point to your main server. On the main
server the Relay section should be set to list the IP addresses of the other
servers.

I am out of time today .... but here is a Raq4 basic setup for Virtual
domain accounts. I wrote this for a part time admin and I hope it helps you
here. I am sure that you just have one are wrong. Also, after the changes,
I have noted that it may take upto 24 hours for Propagation to complete.
(This I do not understand). Anyway here it is...

To ADD a virtual Server:
	A.	Goto SITE MANAGEMENT and click on ADD VIRTUAL SITE.
	B.	Fill out the info accordingly and click CONFIRM NEW SITE.
Depending on the package plan:
	C.	Click the Wrench Symbol for the Domain that you want to add
E-mail accounts.
	D.	Fill in the appropriate information. The default or Dump
account setting is @www.domainname.com.
	E.	Repeat for each user.
	F.	Goto SERVER MANAGEMENT,
			- then CONTROL PANEL.
			 - on the DNS Server Line click PARAMETERS.
		1.	Add ADDRESS (A) RECORD
			a.	Blank
			b.	domainname.com
			c.	IP address of _______________
		2.	Add ADDRESS (A) RECORD
			a.	Use www
			b.	domainname.com
			c.	IP address of _______________
		3.	Add MAIL SERVER (MX) Record
			a.	Blank
			b.	domainname.com
			c.	domainname.com
			d.	High
			e.	Click "UPDATE LIST"
		4.	Click "SAVE CHANGES TO DNS SERVER"
		5.	Click " SAVE CHANGES"

	G.	Add DNS Entries for this alias. Add TWO ADDRESS (A) RECORDS
		1.	- Leave host name Blank
			a.	Domainname.com
			b.	IP address of __________
		2.	Use www in host name
			a.	Domainname.com
			b.	IP address of 209.235.4.49

Please let me know if this helps.

Later,

John

I had never used the email server on the raq before this... so do not know
if it ever worked or not... We had a dedicated email server before, and
with the number of domains we were hosting on it, the over head for the
server was huge, so am moving the smaller hosting clients mail onto the
respective raqs..
