Actually, FTP at different times may use either port 20 or port 21.
There's both "passive" and "active" FTP sessions, one or the other of
which might work better than the other through different types of
firewalls. Most professional firewall systems have an all-inclusive FTP
setting that knows exactly what to open to allow proper FTP traffic. If
she's using a real FTP client (not a web browser), have her try
adjusting her settings from "active" to "passive" (or the other way
around). As far as I know, when using a web browser, you're stuck with
whatever it decides to use.
