Hi there!
Today I installed the fixed version of php 4.2.3 from Brian's
Nuonce.net (thanks for that!) on my good 'ol RAQ4. Like described I
had 4.1.2 from pkgmaster installed earlier which worked perfect.
After the successful installation of 4.2.3 I got a not very nice
looking bold red colored msg in phpmyadmin (2.5.6) saying:
"You are using PHP 4.2.3, which has a serious bug with multi-byte
strings (mbstring). See PHP bug report 19404. This version of PHP is
not recommended for use with phpMyAdmin."
I tried the php-bug-list but the subdomain seems to be not reachable
right now (at least for me).
Does anyone else of you got some helping words for me? Is that
important or can I just forget it?
If it's serious should I consider de-installing the 4.2.3 and
re-installing 4.1.2? Possible without any problems?
Regards, Frank
