Thanks, Dan <blush>.

As the Sun Cobalt RaQs get more and more outdated they also get harder
to keep updated; as you know, Sun Cobalt is not always up-to-date on
issuing patches, even for serious exploits. We were actually
considering dropping support for RaQs as they get more expensive to
maintain (we spend time looking for patches and do RPM patches and even
manual patches against source and rebuilding when severe exploits are
known to exist in "the wild"), but I suppose as long as there's a
demand we're going to be a source of supply.

I spent a few hours yesterday with a friend and business "partner" from
whom I get a fair amount of business, and we discussed possible future
directions. He appears to be interested in running RaQ550 software on
top of Red Hat 9, while I'm looking at, using, and supporting other
hosting platforms as well.

The original poster doesn't make it clear that he doesn't own his own
Raq4, but if he does rent, he might be better off looking at other
platforms where he can get a complete managed service on another
platform for less than what he's paying now, or for not much more.

I know I'm not the only person on this list who offers these commercial
services, and I don't know of one bad choice among us.
