I'd like professional help fixing the 'filesystem [/var] is getting
very full' as I don't feel confident issuing commands on a critical
RaQ4 server - although I do have a development one that I could try
first...
Here's the current disk usage after deleting a few log files once I'd
got the above message:
[root log]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 726M 609M 117M 84% /
/dev/hda3 194M 57M 137M 30% /var
/dev/hda4 17G 2.7G 14G 16% /home
If anyone has a foolproof sequence of commands for tackling this
'feature' I'd really appreciate it, otherwise contact me off-list and
we can arrange a fair rate for the job.
I should add that I've seen many replies to similar postings but just
don't have the confidence to issue them on a crucial server, not least
because of my lack of ability to recover the situation if anything
unexpected happened!
Thanks for the help
David
