I had the same problem with my XTR, since I've been dealing with the
550 OS the problem has ceased, but with an XTR you are pretty much
limited to using MSIE. I believe it is indeed bad java, but I don't
believe SUN or anyone else ever fixed it. It is a well known issue on
the XTR.
I would just suggest using the 550 OS but that hasn't gone so well for
me.
