[cobalt-users] Bassi Mailscanner & F-Prot

Hi,

I'm running two Cobalt RaQ4i servers with the Bassi Mailscanner. I first
noticed yesterday that the f-prot virus definitions were not being updated
correctly. When I try to run the f-prot-update script I receive the
following error:

FTP address for retrieving files is ftp://us-1.updates.f-prot.com/pub/
F-Prot signature file update script
There is a new version of SIGN.DEF, starting download.
Download completed.
Could not find correct version of SIGN.DEF, exiting., Bad file descriptor at
./f-prot-update line 283, <TEMPFILE> line 2.

It seems that even though the file is downloaded it isn't being updated
because a) if I try to run the command again it downloads it once more
instead of telling me the definitions are up to date (like it used to), and
b) viruses that should be halted in the new definitions are sneaking through
my mail server.

I searched around and found someone had posted this error a few years ago on
this list. It was suggested that perhaps Bassi needed to change the update
script?

Has anyone else had this problem with the update script of late? Any ideas
on what's going on?

Regards,

Andrew
