Hi,
I have 2 Cobalt Raq4i's (with mirror RAID) and 550OS.
I am going to be having WEB, Mail, DNS (co-lo provider will do secondary
DNS), MySQL.
I need a high availability solution. I think that using a load balancer
is not a good idea when it comes to MySQL (the RaQs will have to be
synchronised and this creates too much traffic and load). The load
balancer costs a lot too. At the moment I don't have so many sites that
I will need to both RaQs live. I think I should have one live, one
backup.
I should use rsync for static Web Pages.
High priority and low priority for SMTP.
What is the best solution for MySQL? I know the best solution is to have
a full redundant DB server with a RAID5 fully redundant box for storage.
This is what I'll do in the future, if things go according to plan.
The other solution would be to install RaQ4OS and StaqWare. Still it
won't replicate MySQL though. Right?
I am open to all ideas.
