Hi All,
I have several problems with email on my Qube2 and hope maybe someone has an answer. I've searched the Cobalt KB but no luck.
1. I have a user who can not retrieve email. The following error gets put in the Outlook 2000 log (if you want to setup Outlook 2000 to log SMTP and POP check out Notes Q155455 and Q155515 in Microsoft's KB):
ERR Unable to process From lines (envelopes), change recognition modes.
I have verified this by teleneting to the Qube on port 110 and issuing the user and pass commands and get the same results. I looked at his mail file and there is garbage in the first few lines:
HwEAAAA=
--=_6B32B319.7E1F707A--
I've tried deleting this garbage and saving the file but it keeps reappearing in the file. The user claims it started happening the first time he used IMP Webmail. Other users have not had this problem.
2. POP before Relay doesn't seem to work if the user is using another pop3 host other than the Qube's. Is this by design? I thought that if you issue a userid and password it will let you use the SMTP server to send mail. An error always occurs in the log that you have to check mail first.
3. IMP seems to work fine (excellent work from the guy who created the pkg file. I struggled desperately with the manual method offered by the horde folks. I have one problem in that the users alias does not appear in the reply-to field but rather the userid@xxxxxxxxxxx How do I set up IMP to use the alias name like Mike.Silva@xxxxxxxxxx instead of mgs@xxxxxxxxxx?
Thanks in advance!
Mike
