So the machines that we are looking at are (each of them have hot swap
drives and the ability to add internal or external tape drives):
* Sun Netra T1 (1U Ultra Sparc2) -- this machine is the perfect web server
  (and you pay for it)
* HP Netserver LPr (2U Dual Pentium III) -- I am very comfortable deploying
HP equipment and this is a very nice machine.
* Dell PowerEdge 2450 (2U Dual Pentium III) -- Sort of a lower end server,
but still very competitive and powerful.
* VA Linux Full-on 2X2 (2U Dual Pentium III) -- Very well designed from the
  world premier Linux hardware guys.

I had forgotten about the SGI solution but that looks very interesting as
well.

So there are the list of the (in my opinion) top 4 web servers on the market
right now. Every one of them can get me a replacement for a failed
component in 24 hours, every one has RAID capabilities, each one (except for
the Dell--they just don't have the track record to back it up as much as the
others) I'd bet my reputation on.

These all a couple steps up from the Cobalt gear (in price, performance,
reliability, and availability)--so you have to take that into consideration.
But if you are looking at getting some new webservers and you need some
"heavier iron" there are some options for you.

Not to get too off subject.
