RE: [cobalt-users] Cobalt Alternative

This machine uses the NetMax version of RHLinux. You can purchase the
software to make your linux box a cookie cutter firewall, file server or
web server. Check out the NetMAX GUI demo at http://livedemo.cybernet.com/
I have user NetMax web server and firewall in the past and agree that
the GUI sucks big rocks. From a hardware perspective, I think Cobalt
has a little something to watch out for. Sure the little blue server
does its job, but beyond that your options are very limited, especially
with no console access (keyboard, mouse, vga ports). There is also a
solution from SGI that is very nice, however it comes at a price...
http://www.sgi.com/solutions/broadband/sgi_internet.html I haven't had
the opportunity to use one of the SGI boxes, but I imagine Cobalt
does have the best GUI and easiest management.
