resend is the program that reads the list config, then the list, and
starts processing the message which it then feeds to sendmail to deliver
or queue as necessary.
Hmm...'If majordomo has a dependency on it?' -- I'd say a most definite
YES to this since this is the program used by the majordomo suite to
handle list delivery.
Try doing snapshots with ps auxw | less or even redirected to a file
to go back and review what's really going on with your system. Look
at the CPU and MEM percentage utilization field as well as the running
time of each process to get an idea where your resources are actually
going.
