You mean a certificate or a certificate request? For a CSR that you
have not yet submitted to a CA such as Thawte or VeriSigin, just
create a new one.
For a certificate, be careful, you can create a certificate on your
own machine -- but most browsers won't recognize a certificate signed
only by your key...so if you have a working certificate, this probably
was signed by a known CA.
