[cobalt-users] Raq 2 & Raq 3 Filtered Login Security

We have a customer that wants us to create a private access web site on RaQ 
2 or 3 for its wholesale customers to access for special pricing. The web 
site will have about 50 static web pages with wholesale pricing that cannot 
be shown to the public. Only authorized wholesale customers are to be able 
to access ANY page on the site.

We need to filter or funnel all accesses to any page on web site to a front 
door login page than will verify the user's name, password, and access 
rights via a DB before granting access to ANY page on the web site. We do 
not want anyone to bookmark a static page and bypass the front door security 
either.

We do NOT want to use htaccess because there will be over 5000 different 
user name/passwords that will be given access rights via the database. The 
DB will be updated hourly for new users and expired users. Rebuilding the 
htaccess and password files will be too slow and cumbersome. We want to 
control everything via a DB on the front end.

But how do we funnel all traffic to a single front door web page for an 
entire site without using htaccess or making all the web pages dynamic 
(which will be too slow)?

Symbolic links?
Javascript and cookies on all pages?

Any ideas are appreciated.
