RE: [cobalt-users] mySQL and PHP



What can I say.. It is up to the individual to research 
the compatibilities and limitations of any new product
before you make the purchase. You buy a system with 
largely unsupported processor architecture and your support 
will be thin at best. Besides, what's the matter with 
compiling your own binaries? If you don't, then you really 
have no idea what you are about to run on your mission-critical 
server. I'd no more trust a mystery .rpm or .pkg on one of 
my servers than I would trust a pre-packed parachute. ;^)

With the difference that a i386 rpm will not install on a MIPS
processor, 
therefore it means the user would have to download the source and
compile 
it themselves.. or they could just make the MIPS rpm for everyone else
to 
have.. :)
