If you refer to Data Communications, March 1999 issue regarding Managed
Internet Service Providers, it should give you an inkling on what should
be expected from your colo provider.

We own quite a few RAQs and lease them out as well. For those the
buy/rent the RAQs from us we provide the actual manuals, however you will
not find a dissertation on how to be a security administrator, even
specifically with a RAQ. Yes if you do have a box on the 'net' you have a
responsibility for keeping it safe and secure. No one is perfect and it
is practically impossible to keep up with everything, if you want to focus
on being a webhoster than you should find a company that will maintain
your cobalt server for you.
