[cobalt-users] Tracking URL Click Thru's

Hello all.

We run our site on a Simplenet hosted RAQ2.

I personally process our stats by downloading the logs files via ftp to my
NT server machine. I use Marlketwave HitList professional version 4.0.

I want to be able to produce stats for the number of times visitors click on
a spcific url on our site.

My understanding is that I have to use a CGI script in conjunction with the
url to produce a log file entry when the visitor clicks on the url.

If this is the case, any recomendations for the cgi script? I have gotten
clickcount up and running. Is this ok? What sort of CPU/Process
performance hit would be taken if the script ran say 5,000 a day? What about
in conjuction with serving up 100,000 pages per day as well?

Next, is Hitlist the best package for stats in general and more
specifically, will this do the job I require.

Any input is greatly appreciated.
