Goto Cobalt's ftp site:

ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/

Get the rpm for the prodcut you have (example here, raq2)

ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/products/raq2/RPMS/

and dowload the perl rpm and re-install it,you will have to use the 
--force option

(Download)
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/products/raq2/RPMS/perl-5.004_04-C4.mips.rpm

(Install)
rpm -Uvh perl-5.004_04-C4.mips.rpm --force
