Why? These are proprietary programs written and owned by the I-server (now
Verio) people to
act as control panels for their virtual server products which were based on
BSD servers.
They never performed that well and
are now outdated and rather primitive compared to the Cobalt GUI. The Cobalt
GUI is the primary
reason why one would buy/use a Cobalt product. I don't understand why people
are seeking out
these other tools like WebMin, Iroot, Control Panels etc when Cobalt's GUI
does all that these
programs do and more. If you're looking for an alternative to the Cobalt
product or want to build
a 1U web appliance from scratch PC components then perhaps this in not the
best list to gather
such information. Monitor the ISP-Webhosting (www.isp-lists.com) lists for a
few months and evenutally you'll gather
a nice collection of URL's to the various hardware and software vendors that
offer products similiar
to Cobalt appliances.
