What do you mean? Try wording your question differently, unforunately I
can't understand it. DNS had nothing at all to do with bandwidth.

The /etc/named.boot file is a "bind version 4" configuration file. The
Cobalt RaQ2 (and presumably the rest of the line) comes with "bind
version 8.x". Since it's easier to maintain a "bind version 4"
configuration file than it is to maintain a "bind version 8"
configuration file, my guess is that Cobalts web-based gui interface
changes the /etc/named.boot file, and then runs a program called
"named-bootconf.pl" to do the conversion.
