[cobalt-users] THE GRINDING DRIVE PROBLEM

Hello, we have a ridiculous problem that needs immediate attention and
honest answers direct from Cobalt. The subject of this post says it
all.. "The Grinding Drive Problem". I assume there are others out there
that know what I am talking about? We first saw the grinding drive
problem on a RaQ1. At the time, we notified Cobalt of the problem, and
they told us that they had only seen it on the Qube. So we were told
that we had the first "official" case of a RaQ1 with this problem. When
the RaQ2 came about we were told that the grinding drive problem was
fixed, however, over the last two years we have seen a failure rate of
about 1 in 5 drives on the Cobalt product line. Both RaQ1, and more so,
in the RaQ2. One of our customers has had 3 such occurrences of drive
grinding problems. Number 4 is now grinding lack a mad dog, (actually it
sound more like an indy race car) and this server is only ONE MONTH OLD.
What gives?

1. Can we just expect that this will keep happening?
2. Is there a fix in sight?
3. Is this issue being addressed?
4. What happens to the RaQs that we send back that have the problem?
5. Are they looked at?

Cobalt let us know.

Regards,
Jeremy Anthony Kinsey
