Use Telnet and type "whereis sendmail" without the quotes.

[admin admin]$ whereis sendmail
sendmail: /usr/sbin/sendmail /etc/sendmail.cf /etc/sendmail.cw
/usr/lib/sendmail /usr/man/man8/sendmail.8
[admin admin]$

You want the one at /user/sbin/sendmail for your script.
Also, you can search these messages at the Cobalt URL on every post. (Every
plain text post.)
