I asked this exact same question to this list a while back and got no reply.  
Then I asked Cobalt and they said there is no planned support other than 8.8.8.

Hi all,

Does anyone know, if Cobalt intends to provide a sendmail 8.10.0
upgrade for the RaQ productline?

Or can this upgrade be made manually, without disturbing Cobalts GUI?

(afaik sendmail 8.10.0 can be configured to behave like the older ones
- the only difference being, that it supports SMTP AUTH for
determining relaying privileges)
