I do telnet through IP address and not through a name(dns)!
So, i think it should not query a dns server!
what do you mean to that?

It sounds like a DNS problem.  If your DNS is not setup to forward and
reverse the Cobalt it will hang while trying to resolve it.

Look in the list archives unde slow FTP logins for more details.
