I only included the specific piece of your post that I'm replying to, I've prefaced it with quote marks, and I've clipped out all the extraneous stuff, too.

That's what most of us who've been using email for over twenty years have come to like.

Why do we like it? Because it works, because it enables us to see what we're answering, and what other people are answering, it avoids unnecessary bandwidth/time, which at least some of us pay for, and for those of us who keep messages on our system, it saves disk-space.
