2 very odd things..
1. I can mail anyone I want using Eudora on my PC with the box set for my
SMTP except for one client.. His domain is still on the shared box at
Sage/Interliant, he has his own mail server in his office.. Interliant has
it set in their zone file, MX record to pluck all his mail and fwd to his
ISP then on to his mail server.. there is no entry in Interliants
mailertable for this domain..
When I try to send him mail the maillog says:
Mar 5 22:19:17 www sendmail[12823]: WAA12823: <michael@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>...
User unknown
and Eudora tells me the address is unacceptable..
I've said it before, I'll say it again... I need to see the logs. <smile>
2. My message boards are fixed to send a nightly digest.. all digest mails
addressed to all yahoo and hotmail accounts for several days have been
returned as host unreachable I think..
Hotmail is unreachable or busy or doesn't answer a lot these days... it's
really a headache for list-owners. A lot of list-owners won't accept
subscriptions from hotmail addresses for this reason.
I don't have any experience with yahoo, but it may be the same
problem. Busy servers, busy Internet. Busy signals <smile>.
but I see it sitting in the mail queue as deferred waiting to try
again..
As I was saying <wry grin>...
