[cobalt-users] help using RPM

I'm trying to install the PHP and mysql software. For some reason,
installs don't seem to "take". For example:

[root@blumeanie Sw]#rpm -i php-mysql-3.0.14-2.i386.rpm
[root@blumeanie Sw]#rpm -qip php-mysql-3.0.14-2.i386.rpm

Summary : MySQL database module for PHP3.
Description :
This is a dynamic shared object (DSO) for Apache that will add MySQL
database support to PHP3. If you need back-end support for MySQL,
you should install this package in addition to the main php package.
[root@blumeanie Sw]# w

Note that I ran "rpm -i" to install the package. Then "rpm -qip" to
enquire about it's status; the status still says "not installed".

Any ideas what's up?

thanks
