Neil -
Thanks for the input. I know just enough about all this to get myself in
real trouble. Hopefully someone will come along who has had this problem
and give me a step-by-step fix for it. I'm afraid if I try to install Samba
2.0.6 and something goes wrong I'll have no recourse. I will however keep
your Email handy should that end up being the only possible solution.

Well I can tell you the latest verson of Samba (2.0.6) DOES work with
Windows 2000. I've been using it fine in the office and infact I've found
it's BETTER than Windows NT with Samba as NT never seemed to refresh it's
filedisplay enough times.
Anyway if you're sure you're configuration is perfectly fine, then you could
try upgrading to Samba 2.0.6 (www.samba.org) but it will invalidate your
warranty (but who hasn't?)
Sorry I can't be sure that it will fix the problem, but I do know it does
work.

I have SMB enabled on my Qube. Worked fine with Win '98 and Win NT
computers, but for some reason, not with a Windows 2000 computer. The Qube
doesn't show in the "Entire Network" window, as it did under NT4. The W2K
machine will share files with any of the Win '98 machines and the Win '98
machines can share files with it and the Qube. Just for some reason the W2K
an the Qube can't exchange files via SMB. My guess is it is a compatibility
issue, but no idea what to do about it.
