Actually, my only point was that it is quite easy now to marry *both* 
e-mail (list) functions with threaded, searchable online forums. Those 
who wish, could participate or just lurk via e-mail. Others could use 
the online functions. Others may choose a combination of both. Hold the 
pickle, hold the lettuce...:)
