Take a look at the maillog file (/var/log/maillog) after turning up the 
logging a bit in sendmail.  Where is the setting for the catch all in relation
to the rest of the entries for that domain, above or below it.  I can't 
remember, that I believe that the entries for virtualusers in the first
matching entry.
