The core difference is that the Raq3 is intel based. This makes it much
easier to find software for. Also due to how Apache uses logging on the raq2
a raq3 is really a much better choice as the current limit on the raq2's
without modification is I believe 60 sites. The raq3 holds (at least mine
do) 200 average sites with out much problem, assuming you have lots of ram.

Subject: [cobalt-users] RAQ Questions
Hi all,
We are looking into getting into the hosting business and have not as yet
decided on a domain or what kind of servers we want to run. We came accross
the Cobalt site and decided to join this list to see what this is all about.
I was trying to decide between a Raq 2 and Raq 3 and was wondering
which was better for web hosting say 160 customer sites?
The Raq 2 is a lot cheaper but it is as good or as fast as Raq 3?
What about email and web page server performance?
Are there any other important improvements in Raq 3 to be worth the higher
price?
Is there a good place to find all the third party software available for
both?
Your input is greatly appreciated.
